Knitting for Olive No Waste Wool is a 4-ply/fingering weight yarn. This yarn is sustainable, blending 50% recycled wool with 50% extrafine, traceable, non-mulesed Merino. The 50% merino wool is Responsible Wool Standard certified, and the recycled wool is a waste product from the production of other wool yarn. Knitting for Olive collects the excess wool fibres, blends it with their merino wool, and spins the wool blend into a new yarn. This way the wool fibers that would otherwise be wasted, and reduce waste in yarn productions. The 50% merino wool prevents the yarn from breaking easily, which is often the case with pure recycled yarn. Each cake of No Waste Wool contains 50 g of yarn and has a length of approximately 225 m.
